'Neighbor called the cops on my husband': Neighborhood feud over noisy dogs turns to 'unnecessary escalation'

These people let their dogs bark all hours of the day and night, and the "grin and bear it" attitude of one neighborhood couple is starting to wane. Even after five years of living on the same street, this neighborhood feud is seemingly just getting started. 

On r/AmItheA**hole, u/amandaisthenewkaren asked if she'd be the a**hole for giving her neighbor a new nickname — Karen. She writes that she and her husband work from home in a crowded and closely packed neighborhood. She and her husband can hear the neighbor's dogs yapping endlessly, adding that it echoes through the streets, and that they have no reprieve from the barking. 

While they tried to put up with it for a while, things took a sudden turn when the OP's husband went to bed early one night and couldn't sleep. He finally left a note for the neighbors, which the OP described as "polite, but firm," telling them that their dog's barking was too disruptive. But then, this woman took it a step further — their neighbor called the police on them for leaving the note!

Commenters could see both sides of the story here, with some claiming the OP was wrong for calling her Karen, while others claimed everyone sucks here. It seems like a rather toxic way to live around ones neighbors; both sides could be communicating better.
